How We Rate

This page explains how the information on this independent site is gathered and checked. The same method applies to every page, so you can see where a figure comes from and how much weight to give it.

Where the information comes from

We work from primary sources, not from hearsay. Each page draws on the operator's own website, the bonus terms, the general terms and conditions, the payment and withdrawal pages, and the public licence register.

Player comments are treated differently. They help show what people experience, but they are not a source for facts such as limits or wagering. You can see how we handle them on the reviews page.

This site is not run by the casino. We do not publish the names of individual editors, and we make no claims about testing with real money or about interviews. What we state is limited to what the sources above show.

What we check and why it matters

Each point below is chosen because it affects a player in Great Britain in a practical way.

  • Licence and ownership: who is accountable, and whether the operator is listed on the register that applies to UK players. See the legitimacy page for how this is applied.
  • Bonus value and wagering: the headline amount matters less than the wagering requirement, minimum deposit, game restrictions and expiry.
  • Deposit and withdrawal methods: which options exist, and whether they are available in GBP.
  • Limits and payout times: minimum and maximum amounts, and how long a withdrawal takes.
  • Game selection and providers: the size of the library and which studios supply it.
  • Customer support: which channels exist and when they are available.
  • Responsible gambling tools: deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and links to support services.

An example of a checked detail

To show what this looks like, take a welcome offer. We record the total on offer, how it is split across deposits, the wagering multiple and the minimum deposit. For one operator we record a 40x wagering requirement and a 20 €/£ minimum deposit for the welcome package.

A figure like this is only useful with its conditions. A large headline amount with high wagering can be worth less than a smaller offer with easier terms. The full breakdown for each offer sits on the bonus page.

Payouts get the same treatment. We note the minimum and maximum per transaction and the stated processing time for each method, because these differ by payment type.

When sources disagree

Operators sometimes show different numbers in different places, for example a promotion banner that differs from the bonus terms. In that case we give priority to the formal documents: the bonus terms and general T&C come before marketing text.

If the documents themselves conflict, or a figure cannot be confirmed, we say so on the page instead of choosing the more attractive number. Where a detail is not published, we leave it out rather than guess.

Updates and what we do not do

Pages are re-checked against the sources on a regular schedule, and sooner when we notice that terms have changed. Because operators can alter offers without notice, always confirm current terms with the operator before you deposit.

  • We do not accept payment to change, soften or remove facts on a page.
  • We do not present gambling as a way to make money.
  • We do not publish claims we cannot trace to a source.
  • We do not replace the operator's terms. They are the binding document.

Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over. Set limits you can afford, and use the tools offered by the operator or by GamStop if you need a break.
